Key Educational Factors
Key educational factors for education of children with medical needs
A review of the literature on key factors in education and in educational psychology was conducted and its Kkey Educational Ffactor (KEF) were outlined and organised into a limited number of categories. Subsequently, these factors were compared with existing literature on the education of children with a medical condition. The KEF were presented and discussed at the Hospital Organisation of Pedagogies in Europe conference in Bucarest in 2014.

The LeHo WEBINARS are meant to learn about innovative tools and relevant resources for home and hospital education practitioners, stakeholders and interested parties.

Quality of student experience scale
The Quality of Student Experience Scale is based upon previous instruments and has three main dimensions:
1. Maintaining: refers to how the Home and Hospital Education (HHE) helps students maintain pre-illness skills/activities.
2. Improving: refers to how HHE helps students improve and grow in their learning, despite their medical conditions.
3. Overall: refers to the overall perception of the student of his/her school experience
The international network for the Home and Hospital Education through ICT
Malgrat el fet que l'educació representa el factor més important en la prevenció i mediació de les conseqüències psicosocials de les malalties en els nens i joves, els estudiants amb problemes mèdics són encara els més desafavorits dins el procés d’aprenentatge, i s'enfronten a dificultats socials que resulten, en molts casos, en un rendiment acadèmic més baix.
La millor manera d’afavorir aquest procés educatiu és augmentar l'assistència a les escoles d’aquest nens, amb els respectius avantatges socials i de desenvolupament cognitiu que comporten.
Avui en dia els estudiants que estan a l'hospital o a la llar degut a problemes de salut pateixen un clar aïllament i no poden accedir a l'educació general, a causa de les necessitats mèdiques derivades de la seva malaltia i dels tractaments associats.
Dins d'aquest marc, les TIC poden jugar un paper clau en la comunicació i mediació dels processos educatius al llarg del període en que l’estudiant està absent de l'escola a causa d'una condició mèdica.
Tenint presents aquestes consideracions, els objectius d’aquest projecte són:
- Descriure els factors educatius claus i les bones pràctiques identificades en els processos educatius d’estudiants amb condicions mèdiques.
- Explorar i dissenyar solucions TIC que facilitin l’accés a l’educació d’aquells infants que, per condicions mèdiques, es veuen obligats a estar a l’hospital o a casa.
- Comprovar com la tecnologia pot tenir un impacte sobre la metodologia pedagògica tant a la llar com en l’educació hospitalària (HHE).
D'altra banda, les iniciatives adoptades en el camp de l’educació hospitalària, que representa un extrem educatiu, poden aplicar-se també, amb eficàcia, a situacions didàctiques "normals", degut al seu caràcter innovador i d’alt valor pedagògic en contextos educatius complexos.
El nostre consorci, amb socis experimentats en el camp de la investigació, i que inclou la xarxa EDEN amb els seus 200 membres, treballarà en estreta col·laboració amb una xarxa de més de 20 socis associats, entre els que hi trobem escoles de secundària, organismes públics i altres xarxes relacionades, amb l’objectiu d’assolir un impacte de llarg abast en la incorporació de les TIC en el desenvolupament d'eines educatives pels estudiants amb necessitats mèdiques.
